What does healthy mean to you? What would you add to the list?
How do you find the balance of “avoiding toxins (but not to the point of insanity)? I use all petroleum free products except for laundry and dish detergent. I also am highly sensitive to dyes and artificial fragrances, so I already avoid all of those. I’m working on fem products right now. To me these seem reasonable, but my housemates usually think I have reached the point of insanity : )
I totally understand the part about being perceived as crazy 🙂 But it’s worth it, because our bodies will thank us. I avoid toxins by using natural cleaning supplies (for laundry and home cleaning), making my own body care (using homemade toothpaste, lotion, deodorant) or using natural ones, using chemical free makeup, and things like that. It can be a challenge when the folks you live with aren’t on board with non-toxic living. In that case, the important thing is to do your best but just not stress about the rest of it. I think that stress can be more dangerous than toxins, in some cases.
Very nice list!
If I’m not having fun, stop what I’m doing and do something different or do the same thing in a different way that makes me happy.
That’s beautiful. And wise.
Thanks, Eileen! 🙂
