Today I’m talking about three of the most common subconscious reason that people struggle with food. That can mean binge eating, emotional eating, constantly thinking about food, or obsessively counting or controlling food.
All of those are manifestations of subconscious ways we cope with food.
Many of you know I used to be a nutritional therapist. After a while, I realized I could only get my clients so far with diet and supplements.
That’s because the root problems for so many of my clients were a distrust of their bodies, and a misunderstanding that their bodies were machines to control, rather than wise beings to trust.
Other root problems included a fundamental dissatisfaction in other areas of their life — you can’t fix that with food, you have to go to a bigger level. And the other problem I saw was anxiety around food itself, and you can’t solve that by simply changing one’s diet.
Something I tell my clients all the time is, “You can’t solve a food problem with food. You can’t solve a body image problem by changing how your appearance. You can’t solve a problem with the same consciousness that created it.”
In this video, you’ll learn three of the underlying reasons you’re struggling with food.

In health,
Thank you for this. Amazing suggestions. Good Job
Great insights! Do you work with younger people? I have a seventh grade daughter struggling with body image. Looking for ways to help her.
Hi Bethany! I only do coaching for adults, not teens. However, I would recommend your daughter read my book The Invisible Corset https://invisiblecorset.com
