We’re not going to heal unless we change the way we think about healing.
When I was 14, I was diagnosed with an autoimmune disease called Ulcerative Colitis. At the time, the way I thought about healing went like this:
Get sick, go to the doctor, take medication, lather, rinse and repeat.
That was my idea of “healing” for four years. All the while my disease continued to worsen and medication after medication failed me.
I was only able to cure an “incurable” disease when I began to think about healing differently. I opened myself to new possibilities by questioning my previously unquestioned beliefs.
This week, I’m sharing three mindset shifts that encourage profound healing.
We can eat a perfect diet and take countless supplements, but if we don’t shift the ways we think about healing, we’re going to feel chronically stuck.
The last mindset shift you mention about choosing to use it all is something I have become aware of this past year. I’ve had chronic canker sores in my mouth for almost a decade and have seen homeopaths, an acupuncturist, and removed wheat from my diet, and still, I have canker sores. I really believe putting the pressure on ourselves to “heal faster” only hurts us more. The kinder and more patient I am with myself, the less canker sores I experience. Thank you for mentioning this mindset shift! I think it can help a lot of people experiencing painful symptoms.
Please consider taking L-lysine as soon as you feel a canker sore coming on. This amino acid inhibits herpes virus replication. Works well for canker sores as well as to mitigate all symptoms of shingles, including pain. You can do a search to confirm and learn about this possibility (e.g., Mayo Clinic). Also, a diet rich in arginine enhances replication of herpesviruses, so you may want to eliminate or reduce from your diet foods containing high amounts of arginine.
Chronic canker sores can point to an underlying iodine deficiency. You may want to add some Atlantic dulse to your diet, for a good, organic, clean source of healthy iodine. If you have an underlying virus, as Elisa mentioned in her comment, L-lysine is helpful, and also zeolite will help to detox the underlying virus and toxins which feed the virus(es) in question. Wishing you many healing blessings and much Love!
a restricted diet is not hard… disease is hard… yes! stuck people cannot see my potential… yes! these should be obvious, but i do not think i would have come up with these truths on my own… thank you…
The one shift that spoke to me more than the others is “Choose to Use it All”. I was diagnosed with Hashimotos 2 1/2 years ago. I spent the first two years mostly struggling with my various symptoms. I was blessed with a wonderful medical practitioner who recommended diet changes immediately. It took me about a year and half to get my diet straight. Then my insurance changed and I had to find a new doctor. In addition, the medication I was on for my thyroid was not available so I had to switch to a new medication. I’ll spare you all the details but that switch sent me into a tail spin. Finally, in January of this year my symptoms started to improve dramatically until the beginning of May. For whatever reason several of my symptoms have returned in full force and I have new ones that weren’t there before. So long story short I have been REALLY frustrated over the past several months. Thank you for this video and for reminding me that there is no magic ANYTHING in this journey and it’s all important to my healing journey.
Thank you for this video — the reminder I needed to hear! Thank you for your continual growth which inspires us all!
I love the observation that others that don’t support you are stuck for themselves. I have run into so many that try to discredit out of fear. Now that I have succeeded in reversing 15 different conditions & restored my health, they have nothing to say as now the mirror faces them.
Thank you for sharing these very true words of wisdom. I have enjoyed watching your journey from earlier on, and I am grateful for another star to help shine light. Blessings to all who are on the journey of finding our whole self.
A really inspiring video, I have watched it a couple of times and I completely agree with each and every word you say.
P.S. Everyone should do the work that they love!
