Why I purchased my SECOND Biomat…
I purchased my first BioMat 11 years ago, and it’s still going strong. It’s one of the most enduring health investments I’ve made.
Broken down, my investment was about $175 per year for a healing modality I use daily!
Months ago, I gave my first BioMat to a friend when I downsized my life. (I got rid of everything except what fit in the trunk of my car, hit the road, and followed my destiny! It’s a fun adventure story for another time 😉)
When I got settled again, I knew I wanted a BioMat back in my life. So, I just purchased my second BioMat.
What is a BioMat?
A BioMat is a portable heating mat that offers full-body therapeutic benefits.
BioMat therapy involves:
- Far infrared waves
- Adjustable levels of heat, produced by the infrared waves
- Amethyst crystal therapy — the entire surface is covered with ribbing that holds finely crushed amethyst crystals
- Negative ions

It’s primarily used to relieve inflammation, pain, and stress. For me, it’s been extremely helpful for sleeping and calming my nervous system. A short session always brings my body into a deep parasympathetic state.
I use it for daily sessions (30 minutes to 1 hour at a time). When I’m having trouble sleeping, it helps me sleep when nothing else does. I also love the adjustable warmth during the winter months.
BioMat uses low-EMF (electropollution) technology. As someone with electromagnetic sensitivities, this is super important to me.
If you still have any electromagnetic concerns about using or sleeping on the Biomat, you can use one of the device clips from EMF Solutions on the power cord. (To learn more about how EMF Solutions mitigates EMFs, watch my video here.)

If you’re a bodyworker, esthetician, or acupuncturist, you might consider using a BioMat instead of a standard heating pad on your treatment table.
You can also purchase a BioMat pillow to go with the mat, but it’s not necessary. It’s is a firm foam pillow, covered with the same amethyst crystal ribbing that covers the BioMat.
It’s nice for therapeutic sessions, but too firm for sleeping unless you’re a back sleeper. You can use any regular pillow during your BioMat sessions instead.
Sleeping on a BioMat
During winter months, I sleep on my BioMat on the lowest heat setting (I put it on top of my mattress, under my top sheet and blanket). My body does not thrive in cold weather, and the infrared warmth helps tremendously. It also improves my sleep by deeply relaxing my nervous system.
If you struggle with arthritis or joint pain, especially if it’s triggered by cold weather, I highly recommend sleeping on a BioMat.
Where to purchase a BioMat
I use and recommend BioMat Direct! They have great customer service — call or email them with any questions. If you place your order over the phone instead of online, tell them Lauren sent you!
(Please note, due to current manufacturer delays, your BioMat may take a few weeks to ship.)
Important: Health practitioners, veterans, and first responders qualify for an additional $100 off. Any health-related training qualifies you for the professional discount. Select the “Yes I do qualify” option at checkout.
Happy healing!

I borrowed the biomat from a friend and used it for two weeks, and the results were incredible! I have suffered from poor circulation in my hands and feet ever since I can remember; thus my feet and hands ALWAYS feel cold even if my skin is not (because the cold is coming from the inside ie: bad circulation) anyways, the biomat fixed the circulation in my feet after only two weeks of using it every night
Thanks for sharing your experience, I’m so glad you experienced such benefits!
